About
Trovare di Spada is a traditional Italian sala di arma (fencing room) in Saint Louis, Missouri. Our focus are the Italian dueling weapons of the 19th century, the spada (sword) and the sciabola (sabre). TDS is a member sala di arma of the Classical Fencing Society.
Training at Trovare di Spada follows the course detailed in Maestro Gaugler’s text, The Science of Fencing, (which we recommend all students purchase) as well as the instruction of Scuola Magistrale di Scherma as taught by Maestro Sean Hayes of the Northwest Academy of Arms.
Current Training Sessions
- Monday nights, 7:30pm to 10pm
- Wednesday nights, 7:30pm to 10pm
- Saturday mornings, 9:00am to 10am
Tuition for beginner levels is $65 per month ($45 for students). Floor fees are $12 per night for non-members of the sala di arma. Trovare di Spada is currently at home in the gym of All Saints Parish. Located at 6403 Clemens Avenue, University City, Missouri just a few blocks North of the Delmar Loop. Please enter through the front doors and take the stairs to the third floor. Upon entering the sala di arma please find an available seat to the right or left of the doors and a member will take care of you.
